On the Sports page, the Live and Prematch tabs make sure that you don’t place an in-play bet by accident.
Don’t commit to the first market that catches your eye. While 1×2, totals, and handicaps are pretty common, the market that suits you best might be different for each match. If you’re having a hard time predicting the winner of the match with a straight face, picking a total may be a safer bet than trying to pick a side.
Label traps
When you’re making bets on a certain game, those little brackets are actually quite important. For example, when you’re betting on basketball, YesPlay marks totals and handicaps as “incl. overtime” on NBA games. This means that if the game goes into overtime, that overtime is going to count towards your bet. So if you thought you had it in the bag but overtime was triggered, that could turn everything upside down.

Timing trouble
Another common mistake is to wait until the last second and then try to place the bet. According to YesPlay’s rules, bets close around the official start, so if you’re not quick enough, you may not get the chance to place it.
